Alexander Auböck works as Commercial Attaché of the Austrian Embassy in Warsaw which is connected with WKÖ (Austrian Chambers of Commerce) and Advantage Austria. Studies on chambers of commerce usually focus on the most known examples: Germany, France and UK. But the ecosystem of these organisations is very diverse. Austrian system is one of the oldest, but unique and still little known. Alexander Auböck will take us on an extremely interesting research journey which will include:

  1. The elections of the Austrian Economic Chambers” take place every five years in the form of a direct election, where firms on a regional level directly vote for the representatives of their field, which makes this system unique. All chamber members in Austria elect their future representation through these specialized group committees. This direct voting process allows entrepreneurs to actively influence the composition of their representative bodies, ensuring a broad and diverse representation of various economic sectors.
  2. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA” which is Austria´s Official Foreign Commercial Service, operated by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (Wirtschaftskammer Österreich – WKÖ). ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA runs more than 100 trade service centers in 70+ countries worldwide, 750+ Austrian trade specialists and experts recruited from host countries assist Austrian enterprises with international business activities and innovation scouting. Advantage Austria creates international business opportunities by promoting Austrian companies’ products and services worldwide and supporting businesses and organizations outside of Austria in building strong relationships with Austrian firms.
