Abstract
In the context of the principle of subsidiarity and the participatory management of publicpolicies, questions arise regarding the scope and manner of the participation of the representatives ofthe agricultural community in the creation and implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy(CAP), one of the EU’s most deeply integrated policies. This issue is particularly pertinent in the caseof France, a country with a diverse and robust agricultural sector, and the largest recipient of fundingunder the new CAP for the period 2023–2027. France is also distinguished by its chambers of agricul-ture forming a long-standing element of its political and administrative system. Given the connectionsbetween the chambers of agriculture and the state, as well as the recent institutional changes within thechambers’ network, their future role as permanent participants in CAP decision-making processes isbeing called into question. Academic literature on this subject is rather scant, so institutional documen-tation was the main source of knowledge and analysis. Research methods, such as the institutional-legalmethod, document research and the systemic method were mainly applied.
