Research Problem
Chambers of commerce have historically played a dual role as service providers to businesses and as intermediaries in public-private dialogue. However, in many post-socialist economies, including Hungary, these institutions have struggled to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing economic and policy environment. Their legacy structures often reflect centralized, top-down governance models that limit responsiveness, stakeholder engagement, and policy influence.
The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) has recently launched a comprehensive reform agenda aimed at transforming the chamber system into a more decentralized, knowledge-driven, and internationally connected network. This shift reflects a broader recognition that intermediary institutions must evolve to remain relevant in the face of digitalization, globalization, and increasingly complex governance challenges.
This year, the Conference is scheduled for one day online – November 20, 2025. Free access. Links will be send by e-mail only for registerred participants!
